SKI LIFT INSTALLER

JOB SUMMARY

This is a unique project at Mt. Hood Meadows Resort requiring employees to have the ability to
hike up the mountain each day to the job site and physically work for 9+ hours a day. Ideal
candidates would have a wide range of experience in mechanics, excavation and concrete, as
well as heavy equipment. The Ski Lift Installers would report to an Installation Project Manager
assisting them with assembling machinery, surveying, excavating, and pouring concrete for the
foundation, and overall installation of the ski lifts.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ARE RESPONSIBILITIES

(to include, but not limited to)

  • Adhere to OSHA and Environmental regulations
  • Excavate and pour concrete for the foundation
  • Assemble Machinery
  • Assist in Rigging operations
  • Properly operate a variety of hand and power tools
  • Perform Helicopter work to include hooking loads underneath and receiving on the other end
  • Safely perform all duties of this position without significant risks to self or others
  • Follow proper safety and incident-reporting procedures
  • Clean and prepare job sites

 

COMPETENCIES, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to work at elevations over 7,000 ft
  • Ability to work at Tower Height
  • Ability to work in severe weather conditions such as extreme heat and extreme
    cold on the mountains
  • Ability to stand and physically work with power tools, cranes, heavy loads, and
    misc. heavy machinery for anywhere from 8-12 hours a day, 5-7 days a week
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs), walk and stand for long periods of time,
    and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions
  • Proficient Communication
  • Teamwork Orientation


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• English Proficiency
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous construction and heavy equipment experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous ski lift experience
Hire in rate is $18.00 – $25.00/hour (depending on experience of candidate)

Job Title:  Seasonal OHV Trails Laborer

SUMMARY:  A seasonal position, not to exceed 1560 hours per year (40 hours/week), performing a variety of manual and semi-skilled tasks for Hood River County’s Off-Highway Vehicle Trail System, day use areas, campground, and other forest recreation activities within the County’s Tree Farm. 

OHV Trail Laborer perform trail system assessment, construction, repair, and maintenance using a variety of hand tools and motorized equipment.  Plans, organizes, and works with individual trail adopters, volunteer groups, and organized groups to perform trail maintenance activities.  Laborers must be in good physical condition, and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions on a variety of terrain within the County’s Tree Farm. 

Must have a High School diploma or GED.  Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license, and possess an ATV Safety Education Card or obtain within 2 weeks of hire date.  Knowledge and experience implementing sustainable trail building techniques preferred, but not mandatory.  Due to equipment operation safety requirements, an arranged referral to a pre-employment drug test must be passed prior to a finalized start date.

We are seeking hard working, dependable crew members. The work can be physical and demanding in strength, stamina and agility. A workweek typically ranges from Thursday – Monday (weekends) and hours range from 25-40 hours (We are flexible and the weeks can vary in hours and days). Deliveries will be all around the Gorge in OR and WA and the vast majority of all work will be outdoors during the summer months. Crew members must have an excellent sense of timing, as they are responsible for the on-time delivery of all rental equipment. Job Duties: • Pull, sort and prep rental equipment according to rental contract prior to loading vehicles • Help customers and other delivery personnel load and unload vehicles according to rental contract • Delivery and set-up/installation of party and event rental equipment • Breakdown of events and restocking items to warehouse • Count and maintain rental inventory and report any broken or missing • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and overall quality of all inventory • Drive box trucks and cargo vans and maintain their cleanliness

Education, Skills & Requirements: • Must be able to lift 50lbs+. • Willing to work weekends (including Sundays and holidays) • Able to squat, bend, kneel, jump and climb in and out of trucks while carrying items. • Maintain a professional personal appearance and possess customer relation and communication skills. • Able to use mathematics.
