Recreational Opportunity Initiatives

Last season, we created a Nonprofit and Outreach Group Application that would offer nearly at-cost pricing for approved groups/ organizations who are comprised of or serve folks who have historically been excluded from snow sports and outdoor recreation.

We had a great first season of this program, bringing up 230 folks from 9 organizations on over 13 separate trips to Meadows! The vast majority of these folks were first timers or beginners to snow sports, with over 50% of them being youth.

Want to get involved this season? We welcome team members to help in greeting groups when they are visiting us through this program as well as instructors who want to work with these groups. Please reach out to us at DEI@skihood.com if you have interest in contributing in either of these capacities.

DEI Training Initiatives

We are excited about growing our our Inclusion Training Resources for the 23-24 Season! This past year, we have gathered a variety of training materials and created training and educational opportunities for all team members to access and participate in. Collaborating with our DEI Consultant and Alpine & Snowboard Instructor, Humaira Falkenberg, we held “Making Mountains for Everyone” paid training for our team in March of 2023 with the release of the National Ski Area Association’s training video, which is accessible from the Inclusion Training Resources page.

We are excited to continue to work with Humaira on our DEI Training opportunities for this year and look forward to offering in person training in addition to growing our Inclusion Training Resources.
