Civility in the Workplace Reminder
We are proud of our Team this season and all your great work to make us an incredible company. Your dedication to Enriching Lives is what makes us who we are and creates an amazing Mountain Home.
Creating an environment focused on respect, support, and welcoming leads to success for both Meadows, Cooper Spur and all our Team members. Everyone who upholds our Core Values helps ensure that our business practices are ethical, responsible, and sustainable.
Work is better when we treat each other with respect and dignity. We expect everyone to be an upstander, meaning we encourage you to speak up if you see someone behaving in a way that does not adhere to our Core Values and Code of Conduct. You can do this directly in the situation, and/or by using the processes outlined in the Handbook – speaking to a supervisor, or Human Resources.
We each must understand the impact our behavior can have on those around us, and how it could negatively affect the work atmosphere. It is essential to present ourselves in a way that builds a sense of belonging for all. There have recently been a few situations where Team members were making others uncomfortable and not acting appropriately after work and still on premise. Some of these have required DPS to get involved and we have let Team members go due to their behavior. We ask you to be involved to help everyone live by our Code of Conduct.
Civility is key. This means being mindful of how one’s words or actions may affect others. Respecting one another is key in creating a cooperative environment where everyone can come together and perform at their best.
- We do not tolerate disrespect towards other Team members or Guests that could lead to a hostile workplace, including off-the-clock behavior that affects the workplace.
- We do not allow behavior that endangers our Team and Guests, such as driving recklessly in our parking lots, ducking ropes, or running roadblocks.
- We do not accept inappropriate language or derogatory comments toward anyone regarding race, country of origin, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or any other protected class.
- Harassment does not belong here – including unwelcome physical contact, bullying, or stalking. These types of behaviors are unacceptable and are counter to the Mountain Home we all wish to enjoy.
Our goal is for all Team members to feel safe in their workplace and respected by their peers. This includes those folks not behaving perfectly. Calling attention to mis-steps can be done with care and grace. Not spreading speculation or gossip helps us remedy the situation while keeping everyone’s dignity intact. Even those who have wronged us deserve a fair process and confidentiality.
Please take ownership for fostering a positive atmosphere where we can thrive in harmony as part of a cohesive team working toward common goals. We are incredibly impressed with the hard work being done. We believe that upholding our Core Values is essential to ensure our continued success.
We thank those who are practicing Civility and responsible behaviors each day and ask that you help others achieve the same success. We are grateful for your commitment and look forward to continuing this journey together.
Sincerely,
Greg Pack
General Manager
