Employee Tunes: March 1st - March 16th
Please read the following prior to dropping off your gear for a tune.
Rules:
- Please respect the HPC team and know that they will be focused on guest tunes Fri, Sat & Sun. If gear is dropped off on a weekend, it may take longer to get it done.
- $25 is the base price. The final cost is dependent on how much time/material is needed.
- This is for Team Members personal gear only, it is not for friends or family, we are still tuning guest gear during the week, and this is a Thank You to our Team.
- The HPC cannot bring gear back from the dead. If it’s beyond repair, they can refuse to tune it.
- Snowboarders must take their bindings and hardware with them. There is not sufficient room in the HPC for storage.
- Employee tunes are for tuning only, no mounts, or binding adjustments.
- One set at a time, you cannot drop off new gear until your last gear has been tuned and picked up.
- Please pick up your gear as soon as possible, space in the shop is extremely limited.

Please be understanding about time, depending on how much volume the HPC crew is dealing with, things can take a little longer than expected. The HPC crew will be working as hard as they can to get your gear done in a timely manner.
Please be respectful & gracious to our HPC team, and remember this is for team members only, please don’t talk about it with guests or friends.
Thank you for all your hard work this season,
– High Performance Center Team

Pride Day on The Mountain
Join us for Pride Day on March 2nd from 9 am-4 pm at Mt. Hood Meadows!
This is a day on Mt. Hood to celebrate all things pride at Your Mountain Home with our sponsors Migration Brewing and 503 Distilling. We will have a family-friendly party going on in Vertical, as well as beer and cocktails, raffles and more.

A Message From the Ticket Booth
There are lots of perks working at Mt Hood Meadows, one of the best perks is getting to share our mountain home with friends and family using Employee Buddy Passes or Team Member Appreciation vouchers!
In previous years you could send your friends right to the ticket booth, they could give us your name, and we could grant them a pass. Unfortunately, in recent years we’ve had a lot of team members’ whose vouchers were being used without their consent, so we’ve created some new methods to make sure no one can use your vouchers without your permission.
The easiest way to redeem your buddy vouchers is through our website, you can find information about how to do that here on the team site.
If you are unable to redeem your vouchers online you can go to the Ticket Booth, Concierge Desk, or Sahale Rentals Desk; and ask a team member there to write down your voucher numbers. The ticket booth will not grant tickets to people if all they have is an employee’s name and birthdate, as we can’t verify that they have your permission to use your voucher unless they provide us with a valid voucher number.

End of Nights Celebration
We know, we’ve heard it, you want night skiing later into the season. While we will have a bonus weekend or two now is the time to lighten up while you still can, don’t even try to understand. Just find a place to make your stand and take it easy.
Join us March 6th for dinner, raffles/prizes, snowshoe tour and some uncrowded easy riding on Buttercup and Mt Hood Express!
🎿 Lifts (Buttercup + MHX): 4:30–6:00 PM
🍔 Food: 4:30–6:00 PM (menu pending)
🍻 Beverages: 4:15–6:15 PM
Beer + Wine: $3.50 drink tickets (Limit 2, ID required)
Soft Drinks available in Sahale
🎟 Raffle Entry: Check-in required!

Another Week - Another Winner
Although we didn’t get any singers this week, we did get a couple of winners!
Congratulations to Raechel Good (F & B), Mike Blawn (DPS, 2nd week in a row!) and once again to HR’s Rob Vogel for finding the lyrics this week and winning some swag.

What is DEI?
DEI stands for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, which are three interconnected principles aimed at fostering environments where all individuals feel respected, valued, and supported. While they may seem similar, each term addresses a different aspect of creating fair and diverse communities, especially in the workplace or education settings.
What it is:
- Diversity:
- Refers to the presence of differences within a given setting, such as race, gender, age, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, disability, socioeconomic background, and more.
- The goal is to ensure diverse representation in all areas and levels of an organization or community.
- Equity:
- Focuses on fairness and justice, recognizing that people don’t start from the same place due to historical and social disparities.
- Ensures that people have the resources, support, and opportunities they need to succeed, often adjusting for past or present disadvantages.
- Unlike equality (treating everyone the same), equity seeks to address and correct systemic imbalances.
- Inclusion:
- Creating an environment where all individuals feel respected, welcomed, and able to contribute fully.
- It’s about ensuring that diverse individuals feel that they belong and are actively involved in decision-making and shaping the culture.
What it Isn’t:
- Not just a numbers game:
- While diversity metrics (like percentages of women or people of color in an organization) are important, DEI goes beyond just counting heads. It’s about real representation and the meaningful participation of all individuals.
- Not only about compliance:
- DEI initiatives are not just about meeting legal requirements or checking boxes to avoid discrimination lawsuits. True DEI work involves cultivating an inclusive and fair culture, not just meeting minimum standards.
- Not a one-time initiative:
- DEI is an ongoing process, not a one-off project or initiative. It requires continuous effort, commitment, and evolution to address emerging challenges and ensure progress.
- Not the same as equality:
- While equality implies that everyone receives the same treatment, DEI acknowledges that people have different needs and challenges, and addressing those needs is key to achieving fairness.
- Not just for certain groups:
- DEI isn’t only focused on marginalized or underrepresented groups, although it often highlights the need to elevate those voices. It’s about creating a better, more equitable environment for everyone, regardless of their background.
In short, DEI is a holistic, long-term commitment to fostering a fair, diverse, and inclusive environment for all people, not just a checklist of actions or policies.
Look for part two of our DEI segment in the next Newsletter to learn all about what The Meadows DEI Committee has been up to!
