I feel like it would be a great idea to get those round mirrors they use in stores for watching customers and put them at difficult spots to look up line at the load stations, it would make loading and looking up line a lot safer and easier. Good location examples are bottom of stadium and bottom of vista.

A pasta bar would be awesome too!

Chris, Lisa and Ashley have done an exceptional job of helping me get our Guest Host team off to a great start this season. Our team demographic is generally 50+ in ski-years, and having a little extra assistance to set up DayForce apps, log in's, clock in's etc, is much appreciated. Our team is at MHM to build stoke with our internal customers and our external customers....but you all are the ones who consistently build OUR stoke to do our jobs in a meaningful and genuine way. Thanks to Greg, Matt, Jeremy, Fallon, Anna, Mel, Heide and so many others for your organization and communication skills.

Management Response

We appreciate the feedback and I could not agree more about your comments on Chris. Lisa and Ashley they care about their employees and it is noticed. We will continue to help the Stoke and thank you for your commitment to it.

This is the time of year in the ski industry when everyone is busy and stress levels tend to be high. I encourage everyone to try to be patient with everyone you come in contact with, especially our new hires. Try to remember that our new people are not used to the high energy, high output culture that man of us who have seen a few seasons have become acclimated to, and can be easily overwhelmed. Also, try to stay focused on the positive aspects of our tasks instead of the negative. Often, the solutions to things that may not be going well come easier when you have a positive can do attitude.

Pray for snow!!

Management Response

I appreciate your comments on being patient with the new team members as I am one of them. This time of year is exciting and everyone gets pumped up to get the mountain open. Love your attitude that is exactly what we need as things get stressful.

Hard to think of things to improve. Perhaps signs up and verbal instructions at ticket windows to turn in old ski passes from this mountain and others, as it makes the lines run smoother (not sure if this exists or not).

The stoke was awesome from everyone working on the mountain and you could see it flow into the customers. Had a blast on my first day, and I can't wait for more.

Management Response

Thanks for the comment. We do have some return boxes for old ticket media and this season we upgraded to a thicker media stock and are charging customers $2 for the media to help show the value of it and encourage them to save it and reload through the website. Additional signage and reminders is a good idea.

Overall it seems our teams are performing at a super high level to start the season, let's keep up the great work!

I would like to be able to submit my schedule so I can but my requests off in for my other job and so I can schedule my life.

Management Response

Wow a score of a "2" - schedule submissions must be really important to you! I'm sorry it has taken us this long to get the schedule submission tool ready to go, but with the new DayForce system we were exploring other options than what we have always done. I assume you saw my email that I sent out to all returning instructors on Dec. 2 at 12:09pm letting you know that the schedule submission tool is ready. Since my email yesterday we've had 98 schedule submissions come in so far - hopefully you were one of them. Thanks for your patience in allowing us the time to get this ready for you.

Yours in snowsports,

Tyler

Love the new supervisor vests! Thanks for those!

Management Response

You are welcome. Cody asked and made a strong case for them and Lara answered. It is awesome when we can reinvest money right where it has been sensibly requested. - Matt Troskey

I've been really excited to see the increase in resources to train our employees this year. I feel like some of the training and support for the leadership team made me feel much more prepared for the season and a part of a more cohesive team. I also really appreciated the effort to provide more thorough pre season training for our department's front line staff that hasn't happened in years past...I feel as though it has made our staff that was able to attend feel much more engaged in their jobs and has helped opening feel very seamless. It has also been awesome to see some of the concerns expressed last year and even in chatting with Greg some this fall already being acted on. Thanks for taking care of the Meadows family and helping us grow both as individuals as well as a team! My only room-for-improvement thus far is that I'm disappointed not to see the falafel burger on the menu again this year. The veggie burger that has replaced it is fine, but as someone who avoids eating meat here, the falafel was so nice to be able to substitute on things last year.
