Safety Corner

WORKPLACE SAFETY                                                                                               

First and foremost – working at Meadows and Cooper can be dangerous. We all navigate icy walking surfaces, and many of us ski, ride, or snowmobile across the hill daily. To deal with these risks, our active Safety Program includes everyone in the company from top to bottom. We evaluate every accident or incident, work to identify hazards in your work area, and build programs like Get Shreddy to help target our known causes of injury. As a member of the team, YOU have an essential role within that program.

To help keep yourself and your friends safe, we ask you to:

  • MOVE WITH CARE. Master the Penguin Walk. Watch for ice above and below!
  • REPORT HAZARDS. Report anything that looks unsafe to your supervisor. You can also report behaviors or situations anonymously via the QR code below.
  • USE YOUR PPE. If a task requires eye protection – use it!
  • SKI/RIDE WITH CARE. If your job puts you on-hill, know and follow the on-clock guidelines.

If you’d like to play a more active role in workplace safety, talk to your supervisor about joining the Safety Committee! We meet monthly to review incidents and hazards, brainstorm solutions, and dig into the Root Causes of employee injury.

IF YOU GET HURT AT WORK:

  • Tell your supervisor. Find them, call them, text them ASAP.
  • If you need medical attention – Call Patrol. Put their number in your phone NOW: 503 438 3216.

Patrol will get you checked-in at The Clinic if necessary. They are a necessary part of employee check-in, please don’t visit the clinic without Patrol.

  • Whenever possible, a member of the HR team will visit you in the clinic to discuss what’s next.

Ante todo, trabajar en Meadows and Cooper puede ser peligroso. Todos navegamos por superficies heladas para caminar, y muchos de nosotros cruzamos la colina a diario en esquí, Montamos el motemos la nieve. Para hacer frente a estos riesgos, nuestro Programa de Seguridad Activa incluye a todos en la empresa de arriba a abajo. Evaluamos cada accidente o incidente, trabajamos para identificar peligros en tu área de trabajo y desarrollamos programas como “Get Shreddy” para ayudar a identificar las causas conocidas de las lesiones. Como miembro del equipo, TÚ tienes un papel esencial dentro de ese programa.

Para ayudarte a mantener seguros a ti y a tus amigos, te pedimos que:

  • MUÉVETE CON CUIDADO. Domina el Paso del Pingüino. ¡Cuidado con el hielo arriba y abajo!
  • REPORTA LOS PELIGROS. Informa a tu supervisor de cualquier cosa que parezca insegura. También puedes informar de comportamientos o situaciones de forma anónima mediante el código QR que aparece a continuación.
  • USA TU EPI. Si una tarea requiere protección ocular, ¡úsala!
  • ESQUIA Y MONTA CON CUIDADO. Si tu trabajo te pone en cuesta, conoce y sigue las pautas de horario.

Si quieres desempeñar un papel más activo en la seguridad laboral, habla con tu supervisor sobre unirte al Comité de Seguridad. Nos reunimos mensualmente para revisar incidentes y peligros, generar soluciones y profundizar en las causas raíz de las lesiones de los empleados.

SI TE LESIONAS EN EL TRABAJO:

  • Díselo a tu supervisor. Encuéntralo, llámalo y mándales un mensaje cuanto antes.
  • Si necesitas atención médica, llama a la Patrulla. Introduce su número en tu teléfono AHORA: 503 438 3216. Patrulla te hará el check-in en la clínica si es necesario. Son una parte necesaria del check-in de empleados, por favor no visites la clínica sin Patrulla.
