When I reach out to my managers and supervisors via email, sometimes I get a response, sometimes I don’t.

Management Response

There are various ways to communicate. Who are you specifically emailing that you're not getting a response from and what are the topics? -Tyler Barnes, Learning Center Operations Manager

Would you please explain more the reason for no longer letting the night sift employees park in the main lot when it's "full"? This hasn't been a big issue for the many years working here and I've never not found a spot, or parked on the admin road. We are last ones off the hill after a long day and the last thing I want to do play the find a ride to my car game. Also the direction to just get here earlier so you have time to ride shuttles doesn't really sit well. You're asking me to give up very valuable time with my family on both ends so I can ride shuttles around (for free). Xmas day we got to ride the shuttle and saw no less than 24 empty spots in the main parking lot from the bus.
Appreciate the Xmas meal. Maybe next time run it out of somewhere other than the Schuss? The lines and wait was longer than we have actual time to get food.

Management Response

We are working to find the best balance for late arriving team members, admin road can accommodate some but not all. The biggest issue happens when someone comes into the main lot and parks on the end of a row and does not leave enough room for buses to get by. When this happens even if it is rare it throws a wrench into the the whole shuttling system and many team members and guests are negatively effected so we need to do everything we can to avoid that happening. I'm stoked that team members are able to park in the main lot at Meadows at most other resorts I am aware of they have team member parking that is farther away from the lodge than guest parking so in general I think we have it better than a lot of other areas as far as team member parking.

Hopefully we will have a more balanced solution to this issue soon and thank you for voicing concern.

Have a bus going between Government Camp and Meadows.

Not that many night lessons and far to many instructors!

Lift ops needs to get it together! Star didn't have ropes set up and lifties don't seem to do any crowd control on many lifts creating a confusing and frustrating situation for our customers.

Management Response

I have also seen a drop in night lessons this season. We have been scheduling instructors based on historical data. Please come help us on Toyota Saturday nights that are coming up! -Tyler Barnes, Learning Center Operations Manager

It's hard to feel supported at a company that doesn't really give two hoots about the wellness of their staff. I know you were all patting each other on the back for passing out free meal vouchers on Christmas, unfortunately it wasn't considered that you could have it at any other restaurant than the busiest and most guest populated option. Most employees had to wait well over an hour for their meal, many would get their food just in time to for their lunch shift to end, plenty staff did not eat that day. Don't promise a free meal if it's going to be more of an inconvenience to your staff. And don't pretend that you are a great employer by executing small actions that have negative results in the long run. Practice what you preach, and deflate your ego.

Management Response

Thanks for the feedback on the Xmas meal, we will try to make it a better experience next season.

Sadly, I had to "retire" from my position as a mountain safety host due to a degenerative hip condition requiring a new hip. I tried my best to make it through another season yet found it impossible and not safe sking. As John Bain says every day, our personal safety is our number one priority. Ok..I owned that..and did the right thing.
I want to applaud several things from my few years on the mountain...first, John Bain is a great leader..passionate, direct and superior in capability. I loved the "stoked" concept in setting the priorities on the mountain..I have shared this in many places many times since hearing it. I have found the management very accessible and the HR and repair shop and more, friendly and helpful.
I retired 21 years ago yet have taken on many jobs in many fields to keep active. This has included the Trailblazers, Indianapolis CART and ChampCar open wheel racing, etc. etc.. This mountain is one of the best I have worked for.

So ....thank you...I have been encouraged to find another position somewhere on the mountain..so who knows.
