Shout out to Clifford who ran a great group lesson with my friends and I yesterday. He kept us entertained and gave us exactly the advice/activities that we needed to advance our skiing. We all came away from that lesson excited to go practice what we had learned and wishing the season wasn't over already!
Thanks for the appreciation vouchers to incentivize us to get out there and ski!
Awesome thank you for sharing I'm sure Clifford will appreciate the shout out. He is a rock star for sure and has had a very positive influence on many team members and guests this season. We are lucky to have him.

More opportunities for summer work for those who want to stay year around.
Agreed, we are continuing to try to grow these opportunities.

Not sure if this is appropriate for this forum, but I would like to call into question the allocation of funds from can and bottle recycling. It has come to my attention that out of the thousands of dollars that have been generated from the returns, hardly any, if any at all, are being reinvested into sustainability projects. From my understanding, recycling at Meadows is mostly driven by our sustainability team and initiatives. I learned that Meadows has won multiple awards for environmental sustainability, including a Golden Eagle award in 2015 and Recycler of the Year award in 2016, the latter of which was accepted by our sustainability manager. It puzzles me how a decorated sustainability program is not allocated funds that Meadows receives from participating in sustainable efforts.
The irony was too much for me not to bring up. I do hope some change in fund placement policy could be brokered to help grow and develop our environmental efforts. After all, it is one of our core values.
Thank you for sharing your perspective. We do continue to invest in our sustainability efforts and we hope to grow that investment heading into next season. I'm not sure I draw the same conclusion as you regarding the funds generated from recycling cans and bottles. Mainly if we are spending money on sustainability efforts I'm not sure if it matters whether we had allocated can and bottle recycling to it or just budgeted for it elsewhere. Either way we are spending money on the effort. Unless you think direct allocation of those funds would encourage more recycling?

Why do the Meadows powers that be decide to close earlier and earlier every year? Weekends only after 4/20 is the earliest I have ever seen this happen, and is earlier than it was last season. It seems to me the end of the season has been one week earlier every season for the past 3 seasons. This is a huge slap in the face to the guests who paid for passes (including the Spring Pass we are still selling) and is a joke when compared to the operations of Timberline and Bachelor. What's more, it's a huge slight to employees. You've basically cut many of our seasons short, ending it 4/19, because when ops go to weekends only we will be working and not getting in free ride days. And no, having an employee ride day where you run buttercup and easy rider for a few hours does not make up forthis slight.
I am sorry you feel slighted by the operating schedule. Last season 7 day a week operation ended 4/22, this season it was 4/21 and we have consistently ended 7 day a week operation the 3rd week in April the last few years. On past seasons when we have stayed open 7 days a week past that we have seen minimal visitation. That being said I'd love to see us expand our operations later into the season we just need to figure out how to encourage more late season visitation. If you have some thoughts please reach out to me with ideas.

Few questions regarding lift ops / schedules
How was the decision to end operations made and what was it based on?
Any thoughts in adjusting schedules for spring? The last 2 weeks sun rise is at 6 and by 9 most days snow is already sticky. By 1 it's dangerously sticky as evidence by so many people getting carted off... Usually by that time everyone is off the mountain anyway.
What is being done to improve retention / training for lift ops? Most lifts don't seem to be well staffed and on several blue bird days vista / Cascade have trouble opening on time. The seasonal excuse doesn't seem to effect top tier resorts like Bachelor or Crystal from getting their lifts working on time and they have more! Mhx seems to be breaking down a lot these days.
Increasing Max capacity seems like a terrible idea when the "experience" on full days is basically waiting in lines...
