Parking Lot Name Change

The “Overflow” Lot is confusing the majority of the population, so, we are going back to the original name of that lot – it will be called “Twilight” lot. We all need to be able to use the right terms in order to help guests.

To review, we have the following the lots:
Main, Sunrise, HRM (pronounced “herm”), Nordic and Twilight

10-50's

Don’t know what a 10-50 is?
– Ask your Supervisor for more training! A 10-50 is how we report an incident/accident/missing person’s.  Knowing how to effectively report a 10-50 is a vital skill every Meadows employee should have!

Thinking Outside the Box!

The Mountain environment poses special challenges to sustainability, and special challenges call for special solutions. Our guests come to ski and ride the snow, but they rely on our services for so much more as well. There is a lot of material involved in keeping everyone fed and happy too, and The Culinary Services (aka “Food and Beverage”) team went one step further to eliminate resource use before it can become waste.

For a large hungry group, sometimes pizza is the only answer. Getting the pizza hot and fresh to the people used to involve a cardboard box for each pizza.  By thinking “outside the box”, the Culinary Services crew came up with a way to avoid the pizza box altogether. Their new pizza rack is an insulated way to transport pizza to the groups that need them without the boxes. Now, every time hot and fresh pizzas leave the kitchen, they don’t need that individual box.

It’s a great solution that eliminates waste by not creating it in the first place.
Way to go Culinary Services!

Do YOU have an idea for a way to eliminate or reduce waste?  Let us know and we’ll get you the recognition you deserve.
