A good change happened. The adult line up supervisors no longer give people permission to say I do not want to work. I always want a class and so far have gotten one. I am part time and know others need a class to have the work.
We have a new metric for instructors. The goal is to teach 36 hours as a part time instructor with a 18 day commitment. Instructors will benefit from the knowledge of how many teaching hours they have. Measurement always improves performance. If the line up supervisor has the hours they can assign those who need the hours.
Thank you for the positive comment and I could not agree more that measuring something is an helps maintain focus and improve performance.

I would like to know what is going on with Sick Pay. None of the figures on our checks have been accurate since Mt Hood Meadows opened winter operations to the public back in November. This error has been causing undo stress on the lift operators. It's bad enough that people don't show up for work, what makes things worse is when the people who do show up feel like their Admin doesn't support them by giving inaccurate Sick Pay figures. No one here wants to suffer an illness and then have to take an absence because the Sick Pay calculation program doesn't work. Another thint I don't understand is how can a person have a positive number of Sick days one pay period and then have a negative number of days the next pay period without having taken any Sick Pay. Please fix this. I am seriously considering not returning for employment next season especially if this persists.
If you have any questions regarding your balance, please feel free to reach out to me, I am always happy to help address any questions. Team members will not lose any accrual that is rightfully due to them. I realize there have been issues with some team member’s accrual balances, however one thing to note is that there may be a legitimate reason for hours to cease accruing, and it can be very different from one team member to another. Team members can accrue up to 40 hours in a calendar year; Lift Operators tend to work a lot of hours in the beginning of a calendar year. For many returning in November, you may have already reached your annual accrual cap, but again this is only an example, and would need to be reviewed on an individual team member basis. I’d love the opportunity to regain your trust in your Admin-team.

The tablets we currently use constantly freeze up on peak days. This makes it impossible to catch bounties or even help guests as it can take several minutes for their name to show up or you have to restart it which also takes several minutes. You are also unable to manually open gates and this causes backups, confusion and frustration between guests and employees. I think MHX, Buttercup and Vista could use upgraded tablets with MHX being the worst by far.
We are working on ways to get more efficiency out of our tablets. We are going to start having crews bring the laptops in at the end of the day again. Hopefully having them stored inside will help get more life out of them. It will also help us track the damage and get them fixed faster. We are bringing back the “IT damage report” form that we used to use and if you have issues these forms should be utilized. Hope that helps.

1. Thanks to all those who work behind the scenes, janitorial, dishwashers, mechanics...
2. Guest requested a snow stake cam. With recent snow falls I recommend a large one!
Sandy side bus options. Its awsome that we have more opptions for transit now. But we still are only helping out the hood river side. Having mutliple time to catch a shudle. And on the sandy side what do we have, one up and one down.
There is the mnt exspress public bus that gose from sandy to tline almost every hr. Why coulnd we have a small bus or van be able to drop use of at govi. Then your not spending the fuel to go al the way to sandy and you would bo doing something to help our employees that arent from hood river.
This would really help now that we are moving onto a slower time of year. Being let off early because of slow buisness and have no way to get off the mnt untill 5 at night or hitch hiking.
