It would be awesome to have a reader board/some communication further down the hill about the parking situation up here on busy days. Since the overflow parking is all the way in Hood River now, it seems like a really rough way for our guests to start their day with us to drive all the way up here, especially in snowy conditions, to be turned around to park an hour back down the hill. Ideally, a reader board at the Hwy 35 Junction in Hood River so people coming from that direction aren't having to go out of their way at all, and maybe also one at 35 in Parkdale. What is our plan for overflow parking once peak day shuttles are done running for the season?
Shout out to the gentleman at the parking diversions check points. I know that has to be a patience trying job with people upset about having to drive back down to Hood River, but they always maintain a good attitude.
Unfortunately, a reader board would not help much since the parking lots could easily fill just after guests pass the sign, and it would make them even more upset to see a sign indicating lots open, then find them closed when they get here. Most guests come from hwy26 anyway. Parking team is working on plan for overflow if all lots fill after this weekend, but that is less likely as season winds down.

Had a great week. Thanks everyone for shoveling!!
Please charge more money for Sunday 'Blasters than Saturday.
We are considering a more dynamic model for program pricing next season where the price goes up as the program gets close to capacity. This will likely end up in Sunday being more expensive than Saturday if trends from past seasons continue.

I just wanted to tell the vault staff they are awesome. Especially Polly and Lindsey. They brighten my mornings when I pick up my bank. Their positive attitudes always make me leave with a smile.
Totally agree, thank you for the positive comment!

This has been an awesome and busy winter season! I appreciate our entire team! It will be over before we know it, so enjoy the rest of the season with your guests and co-workers =)
I have worked at Meadows for ten seasons. Every season there are comments/reminders to take it easy on the drive to the mountain, and I feel compelled to create that reminder now. On Sunday 2/10/19 I was driving to Meadows in snowy conditions for a shift. I use the bus sometimes but I had my son with me so he could do a lesson. Shortly after getting onto 35, and right as it merges into one lane, I was passed by a Toyota Seqouia with Meadows logos. I was going 50mph and had to swerve across the yellow line so this suv could pass me. I then watched the suv leap frog there way up the road passing several cars at once. A little while later, maybe near Newton Creek, I was behind a plow and a Toyota Highlander with Meadows logos passed me while I was going 52mph. Shortly after that we passed two signs that read, “NO PASSING” and the Highlander pulled into oncoming traffic as if they were going to pass the plow. Luckily they noticed the oncoming traffic and came back into our lane. These two cars were the only ones to pass me that day, both on the way up and on the way down. When we got to the parking lot I parked in the same row as the two suvs and twelve cars away from the Seqouia and one car away from the Highlander. I didn’t see who was driving either one because they were gone by the time my son and I got out. I imagine the two drivers were trying to make it to work on time and they probably didn’t think much of their actions but those actions made me feel nervous and created more anxiety on the drive. I’ve been told by leadership at Meadows that my actions outside of work reflect on the company. I’m also aware that the leadership has expressed comfort with being a bit overwhelmed in the workplace. To me this style of driving is a direct result of being overwhelmed. After all, nobody else on the road during my drives felt the need to go faster. I don’t think it’s a good reflection on the company and it’s not the example that we should be setting for other drivers that are heading to the mountain. I’m asked to put myself in harms way for my job at Meadows because I have been trained appropriately. I’ve never received any extra incentives for my job (i.e. pay increase, more freedom/ride breaks, more discounts, etc.). Yet here I am questioning the safety of my son and I on the commute to work because of people that I work with. I would really appreciate if everybody would think critically about what they are gaining when passing other drivers on 35. Thank you for your time.
Thanks for your comment, it was likely Jake driving the Highlander and myself driving the Sequoia, we apologize for any anxiety. In general if someone is going less than 55 and I feel it is safe to pass I will. I always try to give plenty of room before I pull in front of them to avoid spraying any rocks. I usually have my kids in the car as well.
I'm not sure I understand the part about swerving back across the yellow line. If you'd like to discuss your observation further please feel free to reach out to me.

I recall the situation you describe vividly. Although I disagree with some of the facts presented, the reality is that this event made you uncomfortable and for that I apologize. I consider how my actions reflect on the Company in just about everything I do. I try hard to always represent our organization in the most positive manner possible – your comment is therefore appreciated in that regard.

Things are going awesome. Hard job but enjoyable. Love knowing bosses have our back. Can we get speakers at all the lifts please? Food lines could use some work. All in all, pretty stoked.
Thanks for the feedback. We take the sense of team here pretty seriously. We are still working on the speakers request. More to come.

Lots of snow. Management cares and helps us. Very active in trying to help morale. We could use more reliable staff but hey, it is seasonal so I guess I get it. The job is hard but it's great. Love my job.
Thank you for the feedback. Thank you to everyone that has shown up consistently this season. We could not have done it without all of you.
